The rules at Fox Pool France are designed to protect the fish, maintain the quality of the venue and ensure that every angler enjoys a safe and enjoyable stay.
Most of the rules are straightforward common-sense measures that help us maintain high standards of fish care and preserve the relaxed atmosphere that Fox Pool France is known for. We ask all visitors to read and follow the rules before fishing.

The welfare of our fish is our highest priority. To minimise the risk of injury and prevent the spread of disease between waters, the following rules must be observed:
• No standing while holding fish for photographs
• No retaining, sacking or keeping fish in slings
• No moving fish between lakes
• All anglers must carry a carp care kit
• Fish must only be handled using the nets, slings and mats supplied by Fox Pool France.
• Personal nets, slings and cradles are not permitted to prevent cross-contamination between fisheries
Tackle and rig rules
The tackle and rig rules at Fox Pool France are designed to minimise the risk of fish losses and ensure every angler is fishing safely and responsibly. If you are unsure whether your setup complies with our rules, please ask before casting out – we’re always happy to help.
• Tubing only – no leadcore or Safe Zone style leaders
• All lead arrangements must allow the lead to eject safely
• No braided main line
• Minimum 15lb main line
• No long shank hooks
• Barbless and micro-barbed hooks only
• No Zig Rigs
• No Magic Twig or similar presentations
• No plastic baits
• No nuts or maggots
Bait rules
To maintain fish health and ensure consistency across the fishery, all particle and pellet must be purchased on-site.

Behaviour around the lake
To ensure everyone enjoys their stay, we ask all anglers to show consideration for the lake, the facilities and other visitors at all times. The following rules help us maintain the peaceful and respectful atmosphere that Fox Pool France is known for.
• Fox Pool France is a relaxed fishing venue, not a party venue
• Excessive alcohol consumption, anti-social behaviour or drug use will not be tolerated
• Please be considerate of other anglers at all times
• No litter
• Fishing from designated pegs only
• No smoking or vaping inside bivvies
Facilities and housekeeping
The facilities at Fox Pool France are available for all anglers to enjoy throughout their stay. We simply ask that everyone treats the cabin, toilets and communal areas with the same respect they would expect from others, helping us keep the venue clean, comfortable and welcoming for everyone.
• Please keep the cabin clean and tidy
• Wash and put away any pots, pans and utensils after use
• Only toilet paper should be flushed down the toilets (no wet wipes)
• Please use the toilet facilities provided and do not use the bankside as a toilet
Tackle hire and equipment
Whether you’re hiring a complete tackle package or a few individual items, please treat all equipment with the same care and respect as you would your own. This helps us keep everything in excellent condition for all anglers visiting Fox Pool France.
• Any tackle breakages will be charged at replacement cost
• Please report any damaged equipment during your stay
